You may have heard of a little movie called Frozen. Oh, you haven’t? Yeah, me neither.
All jokes aside (because really who hasn’t heard of this movie?), I became intrigued after hearing my daughter sing the beloved “Let It Go” for the thousandth time and decided to delve deeper into the world that is all things Frozen. Honestly I just wanted to know what all the hype was about. After seeing the movie time and time again with my kids I now realize it’s a moving and inspirational film that will resonate with any family. Whether you have a daughter or a son, there are many educational lessons kids can take away from a movie like this:
- Don’t Be Afraid of Who You Are. Helping kids build the inner strength to cope with life’s ups and downs as they grow is one of our most important tasks as a parent.
- Life Is All about How You Look at It. Enough said. Encourage your kids to surround themselves with grateful people. Gratitude, like any other attitude, is contagious.
- Bravery Comes in Many Forms. Whether you’re a puny snowman or a snow queen, you should never judge a book by its cover.
- …So Does True Love. When someone thinks of “true love” they often think of romance. This movie is a powerful reminder of the sibling bond and that love comes in all different forms.
*I apologize in advance for the theme song that is sure to be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
