CPR

infant-yawningIt’s every parent’s worst nightmare. Your child isn’t breathing and you’re in a panic. The Huffington Post recently posted pictures from an incident involving a 5-month-old infant who wasn’t breathing. His caretaker was driving along a major highway and needed to pull over in order to take action. The pictures are heartbreakingly real, and a stark reminder why every parent should know how and when to administer CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).

When performed correctly, CPR can save a child’s life by restoring blood flow to the heart, brain, and other organs. Everyone can learn CPR by taking a class with the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or by contacting your local hospital.

Keep this printable nearby in your house, office, and car to use as a reference when needed. Remember, CPR could help you save your child’s — or someone else’s — life someday. Know the signs and know how to perform or get help.
