This June, we launched the Kiddie Academy Community Fund, a new resource available to teachers and staff across the Kiddie Academy system.
Across the country, thousands of children learn along with our award-winning Life Essentials® curriculum, and none of it would be possible without the many teachers and team members that keep classrooms running.
The Kiddie Academy Community Fund was established to give back to teachers and staff during times of disaster, emergency and personal hardship, helping to provide relief when it is needed most. It is a living example of empathy, generosity, and responsibility in action, and it relies on monetary support from the Kiddie Academy corporate headquarters, franchisees, and the greater community.
“It’s about having a level of empathy for a team member’s situation. But more importantly, when trying to meet their need—whether it’s big or small, whether it’s monetary or an encouraging word—we have to model these things for our children so that they can have an understanding of how to support someone in their community that may be falling short,” said Tymeka Moore, franchisee and owner at Kiddie Academy of Clear Lake.
Making a difference together
Through an application process, team members can apply for grants during certain eligible events, and by making a donation, community members help to make a critical investment in the wellbeing of Kiddie Academy teachers and staff across the system. Donations to the Fund are tax deductible, and grants to teachers and staff are tax-free.
“Our franchise community has already been so supportive of the Fund, helping to raise over $12,000 in just one weekend during the Fund’s launch,” shared Maria Dontas, Kiddie Academy headquarters’ director of corporate social responsibility. “It was an amazing way to kick off the Fund and celebrate our teachers and staff across the country.”
Impact that matters
Every gift, no matter how big or how small, plays a part in helping to take care of a teacher or staff member in need. Our goal is to grow the Fund together, so teachers and team members never weather a hardship alone.
“Knowing you have your employer’s support during unplanned, unforeseen circumstances goes a long way. It’s a bond that’s formed when you’re at your weakest moment,” shared Carol Haynes, franchisee and owner of Kiddie Academy of Hilliard, Downtown Columbus, KIPP Columbus, Reynoldsburg, and Pickerington.
