Here’s a fun, easy and tasty treat you can make at home with your children this Fall.
Recently we were invited to join Ms. Mikayla and the 2-year-olds at Kiddie Academy of Abingdon, Maryland, as they prepared an ooey-gooey recipe for pumpkin spice yogurt. We’re not sure what they liked more – squishing it around or eating it.
Here’s what you need: a tub of vanilla yogurt, a can of pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, a small bowl and measuring spoons. Oh – and paper towels. LOTS of paper towels because messes will be made. If done properly, this activity will answer the question, “I wonder what my child looks like with an orange beard?” Scheduling this activity right before bath time might not be a bad idea.
Directions:
- 1. Plop one scoop or handful of yogurt in a bowl, being careful not to spill too much on the table, floor or dog
- 2. Dump one spoonful or handful of pumpkin puree in the bowl , heeding the same cautions as in step 1
- 3. Sprinkle enough pumpkin spice on the yogurt to make it taste good, but not too much
- 4. Use a spoon, finger or hand to stir everything together
- 5. Taste and enjoy
