Since 2021, Kiddie Academy® has been proud to partner with Family Promise, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to end the crisis of family homelessness. Through a community-based response, Family Promise delivers innovative solutions for family homelessness including prevention, shelter, and stabilization services. In 2023 alone, Family Promise helped 63,000 families, and we’re thrilled to support them as they continue to help those experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable independence.
In previous years, Family Promise hosted a “Night Without a Bed” event every October for families who wanted to get involved in a truly impactful philanthropic initiative and teach their child about homelessness and how to help. Moving forward, all partners have the opportunity to participate in Night Without a Bed during any time of the year that works best for their community.
What is Night Without a Bed?
Night Without a Bed is a national social media awareness campaign that helps educate the public about homelessness and Family Promise’s commitment to finding a solution. It creates an empathetic foundation among children while offering an engaging way to raise funds.
How do I participate?
One of the many great things about this initiative is how easy it is to get involved. Your family can participate simply by sleeping in a tent, car, or on your living room floor – essentially anywhere that isn’t a bed. Then, take and post photos on your social media platforms using the hashtags #NightWithoutABed and #KiddieAcademyFamilyPromise.
Family homelessness is an often-unseen crisis that continues to impact families across the country. Through Night Without a Bed, we are able to raise money and awareness while helping children become more compassionate individuals.
Many Kiddie Academy locations will be collecting financial donations for Family Promise as part of this initiative. Check with your local Academy to see if they’re taking donations or donate directly through the Family Promise website.
